Terms & Conditions for Lake 32 Membership

Membership is paid annual in advance. The membership season runs for 12 months following purchase. To access the lake, each individual will need a current, valid membership.

We reserve the right to terminate a membership at any time without notice.

MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS

  • Lake Membership
    Members will have access to book Open Water Swimming & Self Launch slots at no additional charge subject to the terms and conditions associated with the activities. An up to 7-day advance booking is standard and bookings are subject to availability. Individual membership is for age 18+.
  • U18 Lake Membership
    Members will have access to book Open Water Swimming & Self Launch slots at no additional charge subject to the terms and conditions associated with the activity. An up to 7-day advance booking is standard and bookings are subject to availability. All juniors must be accompanied and supervised by an adult member whilst on site. Junior Members are up to age 18.

CRAFT HIRE

As a benefit of memberships, we offer the opportunity to hire craft. Hires must be booked via email and paid for 72 hours in advance and are subject to availability.

GUEST ACCESS

As a benefit of memberships, we offer the opportunity to book in guests to join you. Guests must be booked and paid for 72 hours in advance and are subject to availability. They may use your equipment or hire equipment from us for an additional fee.

Money Back Guarantee is covered in our Cancellation and Refund Policy.

CHANGE OF DETAILS

Should your personal details change, please notify us immediately. The details we hold for you will be used to communicate electronically.

PRICES

Prices may be reviewed at any point and will be detailed at the time of purchase. Hire charges are provided at the time of enquiry.

CONDUCT

We expect our members to behave in a considerate manner and will not accept any inappropriate behaviour towards other members or our colleagues. We reserve the right to refuse admission for members behaving in such a manner.

GROUP MEMBERSHIP CARDS AND PHOTO IDENTIFICATION

All group members will be provided with a number of group membership cards identifying the group which will need to be available on each visit to the facility. The group membership will also require identification for current membership of the group they are in. The card may only be used by the person to whom it has been issued.

PERSONAL PROPERTY, INJURY, ILLNESS AND DEATH

  1. You should not exercise beyond your own ability. If you know or are concerned that you may have a medical condition which might interfere with exercising safely, consult a relevant medical professional and follow their advice.

Subject to the final paragraph of this section, we will not be liable to you for any loss or damage you may suffer where the same is attributable to:

  1. Your own fault
  2. A third party unconnected with our provision of services under this agreement; or
  3. Events which neither we nor our suppliers could have reasonably foreseen or forestalled after taking all reasonable measures.

Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence of for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability which cannot be excluded by law.

CANCELLING YOUR MEMBERSHIP

Cancellations are covered in our Cancellation and Refund Policy.

BOOKABLE ACTIVITIES

Your Membership will entitle you to book activities subject to the terms and conditions associated with the activities.

In order to make booking fair and sustainable for all our members we ask that all members are considerate of others and do not book an unreasonable number of sessions which may have an impact on other members’ ability to use their membership. Should members book multiple daily sessions we reserve the right to cancel any bookings we deem to be excessive including any sessions that are sequential where it is clear that the customer could not undertake both at the same time.

If you are unable to attend bookings, you must cancel as soon as possible. Whilst most of our members, when unable to attend a booked activity cancel in good time to allow others to book, others do not which limits availability for everyone else. We reserve the right to impose penalties for repeat offenders.

LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England. Disputes arising here from shall be exclusively subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and your use of the site confirms your agreement to this jurisdiction. Any cause of action you may have with respect to your use of this site must be commenced within one (1) year after the claim or cause of action arises.

If any of these Terms of Use is determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable by reason of the law of any state or country in which these Terms of Use are intended to be effective, then to the extent to which that Term or Condition is illegal, invalid or unenforceable, it shall be severed and deleted from that clause and the remaining Terms of Use shall survive and continue to be binding and enforceable.

Cancellations & Refunds Policy relating to Annual Memberships

MONEY BACK GUARANTEE

A 14 day money back guarantee is offered to all new members. All monies paid in respect of the membership will be refunded in full should you for any reason wish to terminate this agreement within 14 days of joining unless you gave up your right to withdraw at the time of purchase. 

CANCELLATION BY LAKE 32

Lake 32 reserve the right to refuse, cancel or change any booking or event at any time prior to its commencement and to refuse admission to the event or centre, or to reject an application of membership and to withdraw membership.

We can add to, change, withdraw or cancel facilities or activities from the centre without notice. This includes closing the centre or making changes to opening hours for safety reasons, maintenance or special events.

There is no entitlement to a refund where Lake 32 is forced to cancel part or all of a membership due to reasons beyond our reasonable control. However, refunds may be given at Lake 32’s discretion.

CANCELLATION BY YOU

Annual Memberships will be non-refundable in the event of cancellation by you.

REFUNDS

No refund of membership fees will be made if a facility or an activity is withdrawn.

Lake 32 will not be liable for any other expenditure incurred or loss sustained arising from the cancellation.

A minimum of 72 hours notice is required when requesting a refund for hires and guest bookings. Such requests are to be made in writing and submitted to info@lake32.co.uk

No part session refunds/credits are available.

Terms & Conditions for PAYG Bookings

PAYG customers may only enter the site following a successful online booking for their selected activity.

CUSTOMER DETAILS

Please ensure you accurately fill in your medical and NOK information, this will allow us to effectively administer first aid and get in touch with your designated person should the need arise.

PAYG Cancellations & Refunds Policy

CANCELLATION BY LAKE 32

Lake 32 reserve the right to refuse, cancel or change any booking or event at any time prior to its commencement. This will only be done in extenuating circumstances, and you will be asked whether you wish to re-arrange the booking or indeed be refunded.

We can add to, change, withdraw or cancel facilities or activities from the centre without notice. This includes closing the centre or making changes to opening hours for safety reasons, maintenance or special events.

There is no entitlement to a refund where Lake 32 is forced to cancel part or all of a membership due to reasons beyond our reasonable control. However, refunds may be given at Lake 32’s discretion.

CANCELLATION BY YOU

You must cancel your session a minimum of 72 hours in advance in order to qualify for a full refund. We will be happy to re-arrange any session prior to it’s commencement even if the request comes out with the minimum notice period. Any requests for refunds or re-arrangements after the session start time will not be processed.

Lake 32 will not be liable for any other expenditure incurred or loss sustained arising from the cancellation.

No part session refunds/credits are available

Terms & Conditions of Group Booking

  • Bookings may only be secured by submitting a booking form and paying a 25% deposit.
  • The completion of a booking form and payment of the deposit invoice shall be deemed a confirmed booking and constitutes a binding contract.
  • Any changes in Numbers of participants must be highlighted a minimum of seven days prior to the activity date.
  • Should Late notification of participant numbers be given you will be charged as agreed in the original invoice.
  • Lake 32 Outdoor Centre (hereinafter referred to as ‘Us’, ’We’ or ‘Our’) must agree any change in the number of participants prior to the activity.
  • Should we cancel any pre-booked activity or event, we will either re-schedule or offer a refund of monies paid to us in advance of that specific activity.
  • We reserve the right to change, alter or postpone activities if circumstances or safety dictates.
  • The individual who made the original booking must notify us a minimum of one calendar month in advance if they intend to cancel a booking.
  • In the event of a cancellation within the afore mentioned timeframe, we will re-schedule or issue a full refund less the admin fee (£30).
  • For cancellations with less than one calendar month notice the deposit will not be refunded. Cancellations within 7 days of the booking will not be eligible for any refund.
  • Customers will indemnify Us against claims made against Us for damage or loss caused by one your party to any third party.
  • If any conduct causes distress or threatens danger or damage either to the site or other customers, We will remove offenders immediately and No refund will be issued.
  • Notice of any claim that may be brought against Us which arises from any booking must be given in writing within 28 days after the activity date.
  • Property – We do not accept responsibility for the loss or damage of any personal property whilst you are on site.
  • We reserve the right to seek a professional medical opinion, treatment or help for any client at any stage of their visit should we deem it necessary.
  • It is the responsibility of the group leader to inform Us of any relevant medical or behavioural issues of persons in the group prior to your visit.

Terms & Conditions of Course Booking

  • Should we cancel the course for any reason, we will either re-schedule or offer a refund of monies paid to us.
  • We reserve the right to change, alter or postpone courses if circumstances or safety dictates.
  • The individual who made the original course booking must notify Us a minimum of seven days in advance if they intend to cancel said booking.
  • In the event of a cancellation within the afore mentioned timeframe, We will re-schedule or issue a full refund less the admin fee.

  • Booking and attending the course does not automatically guarantee a Pass Certificate.  We will endeavour to ensure each participant has received all the information and practice to pass the course.  Feedback will be given to all participants as appropriate.

Expected Behaviour

  • All visitors must report to a member of staff on arrival.
  • Buoyancy aids must be worn at all times when on, or near, the water.
  • Respect staff and other lake users, this also includes on our social media groups.
  • Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/carer at all times.
  • Dogs must be kept on leads and under control at all times. Dog fouls must be picked up immediately and disposed of correctly.
  • Alcohol is not permitted on site at any time.
  • Smoking is only permitted in designated areas on site.
  • Visitors to the lake must not feed the wildlife.
  • Do not throw any objects into the lake.
  • All equipment borrowed from Lake 32 must be thoroughly sanitised before being returned to us. This is achieved by use of the “Dip & Dunk” station at the kit store.
  • Visitors must ensure that any equipment that has been used in any other bodies of water, must be thoroughly cleaned before use in Lake 32.

Weil’s Disease

The Weil’s disease form of leptospirosis is contracted from the urine of infected rats. The bacteria get into your body through cuts and scratches or through the lining of the mouth, throat and eyes after contact with infected urine or contaminated water. It is a rare condition in the UK.

See a GP if you might have been exposed to infected urine and you have:

  • a high temperature, or you feel hot and shivery.
  • a headache.
  • been feeling sick (nausea), you’re being sick, or you have diarrhoea.
  • aching muscles and joints.
  • red eyes.
  • loss of appetite.
